Fees & regulations 

The full registration and tuition fees for the 2011 - 2015 DBA degree programme at GIBS will be R104 800. These fees cover all tuition, materials, catering and use of facilities at GIBS over the duration of the programme. 

The fee structure is as follows:

  • R800 will be payable upon submission of your application.*
  • R2 000 will be payable upon acceptance onto the DBA.* 
  • R50 000 will be payable in July 2011 upon admission to Part 1.
  • R17 333 will be payable upon registration for Part 2 in July 2012.
  • R17 333 upon re-registration in July 2013.
  • R17 334 upon re-registration in July 2014 for the final year.

* The non-refundable application fee payable upon submission of an application is R800. The non-refundable deposit to secure a place and start receiving tuition materials upon acceptance onto the DBA is R2 000. This amount will be offset against the cost of tuition in the first year.

In the event of an extension being granted for a further year of study beyond 2015, an additional fee of R17 334 will be payable. In the case of international students, a surcharge of R2 000 may be levied in addition to the above fee.

All costs associated with fieldwork, travel, special software or equipment required for purposes of research, as well as printing and binding of the thesis will be for the student’s own account.

Regulations

The Director of GIBS, in consultation with UP executives, has the right of authorisation regarding matters not provided for in the general regulations of the University's or GIBS' regulations.

Credits

The DBA degree is NQF accredited, at NQF currently at 10 and carries 450 credits.
