2 Day MBA Elective: Leading others through Storytelling by Prof. Dave Beaty
For GIBS MBA graduates only, Certificate of attendance.

Elective overview: We are paid as managers to influence others. Yet, while most MBA students have learned a myriad of analytical techniques to make better strategic and operational decisions, most have seldom received appropriate knowledge and skills in leading, selling, persuading and achieving results with others. In the real world of business, these attributes are critical in moving self and others to career and management success.
The power of storytelling has been proven as a well-researched and practical intervention that leaders can use to engage and connect effectively with others.

Aims & Objectives: Participants attending this elective will achieve the following results:
• Learn why stories are one of the most powerful forms of influence
• Acquire an understanding of the science and practice of Leading Others through Storytelling
• Develop practical skills in the art and craft of storytelling
• Experience the practice of personal storytelling to achieve maximum effectiveness and impact
• Learn the appropriate methods, styles and delivery mechanisms of Leading Others through Storytelling
• Compile a bank of stories that can be used to inspire and influence others throughout one‘s personal and professional lives
