My iGIBS
My iGIBS allows you to create your own personalised page packed with the kind of valuable, topical information you need to know in the areas of Strategy, Leadership, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Career Management and Dynamic Markets.
In addition, you can pull in some external widgets* – and add your own content including documents or favourite photographs.
You can then arrange these any way you like: drag them around and drop them where they fit best.
You can also change headings simply by double-clicking on them.
Choose from:
- In the news – the latest books, blogs, articles and videos on the topic(s) of your choice;
- What’s on at GIBS – events related to your chosen topic(s);
- Fin24 News;
- Weather;
- Currency Converter
How do I start? Start by clicking the “Add stuff” button to see which items you can add to your page.
Adding information on a specific topic
To add the latest books, blogs, articles and videos about Strategy, Leadership, Finance, Entrepreneurship or Marketing, click on “In the news”. You’ll find it in the banner that appears once you’ve clicked the “Add stuff” button.
This will pull the “In the news” widget* onto your page. When you first pull it in, this widget will contain all the latest news on “Strategy”.
To change it so that it pulls in information on another topic, click the pencil icon on the top right of the widget. Now click the arrow to display the drop-down menu. Choose which topic you would like by clicking on one of them and then clicking “Select”.
To change the heading of this widget, simply double-click on the heading, type in your own wording and click “OK”.
Add your own content
Click “Add your own content” (you’ll find this link on the banner that appears once you’ve clicked the “Add stuff” button).
Please be patient while the widget loads.
When it has loaded, click on the pencil icon at the top right of the widget. Please be patient while the editor loads. You will then be given a tool bar and an editing box.
Start typing in your content, or insert links to elsewhere .  Once you have finished, click submit.
Events at GIBS
GIBS Events Calendar. You will notice the GIBS Events Calendar is standard on your page. This handy calendar features all the GIBS Forum events, Conferences, Executive Education Short Courses and more. Hover over the highlighted dates to see what’s on – and click on the date for further information or to book your place
What’s on at GIBS. If you choose the “What’s on at GIBS” widget, select the topic that most interests you – Strategy, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Marketing or Finance. Interested in more than one topic? Then pull the widget in more than once, selecting a different topic for each.
Weather
Pull in the weather widget to stay on top of what’s happening outside! Choose which region you’re interested in by clicking on the pencil icon on the top right of the widget. Need to keep a finger on the weather in both Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth? Pull in two weather widgets and set them up accordingly.
Fin24 News
Stay in touch with the latest business and financial news by pulling in the Fin24 News widget. Click on a heading to read the full story on the Fin24 web site.
Currency Converter
Need to stay in touch with currencies? Pull in our handy Currency Converter so that it’s always handy.
