April 2011
Although the country almost ground to a standstill with all the holidays over this period, work went on regardless for our MBA’s. Assignments to complete and hand in, and naturally all the pre-course reading for the next two modules. We chatted with a few of them to get a sense of what they were feeling about the MBA so far.

| MARCH 2011
We’re a few months into the MBA now, and just when the students thought they’d gotten over the initial shock and pace of work required from them…along came the Analytical Tools and Techniques module (Stats in more familiar terms) which saw some working through the night, and consuming vast quantities of caffeine. This module was balanced out by the Marketing course, and we caught up with senior lecturer Michael Goldman who shared his insights onto what he’s teaching, as well as some students who gave us their take on stats.

GIBS MBA Experience - Michael Goldman - Marketing Module The marketing module is set to inform students on effective ways in which to market brands and understand the challenging environments in which these brands operate.

| The Amazing Race - january 2011
It’s not all serious and for the first week the Genesis programme gave students the opportunity to meet and interact with their classmates and syndicate members. One highlight of the week was the Amazing Race...
|
 |

Amazing Race....which saw taxi loads of syndicates rushing from Sandton to Alexandra to the city, following clues. Here’s a short video on the scramble to find the right taxi to take them off on their journey. You can also check out some photographs on the GIBS Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/GIBSsa
