Certificate in Finance
Welcome Finance is the language of business. As you move up the management ladder, it is increasingly important to feel comfortable and understand accounting and financial matters. Without a good grasp of these principles you will inevitably be left out of important discussions or make decisions which you later regret.
Not everyone has the opportunity to study a full degree in accounting or finance. The Certificate in Finance programme aims to bridge this gap.
As a student on the Certificate in Finance programme you will be required to attend a number of on-campus learning experiences. Each session will require preparation that you will undertake individually or in groups. For the remainder of the programme you will be preparing, studying, undertaking syndicate work and conducting your own research
why choose the certificate in finance? For some individuals a short “finance for non-financial managers” executive course is sufficient. This programme provides a significantly deeper and richer foundation, with group and individual assignments and exams to facilitate and encourage learning. While the timeframe of this programme is considerably less than a full degree programme, we nevertheless aspire to focus on key managerial aspects of finance and provide participants with useful and practical skills. Participants should emerge from the programme with some confidence that they can talk the language of finance and some assurance that they have pierced the veil of accounting.
The Certificate in Finance aims to provide managers in non-financial positions and those with limited finance background the following advantages:
- The tools required for a broad economic analysis of industries and a more detailed appreciation of company financial statements
